Every weekend, Friday to Sunday, 6pm to late, it is time for the Ha Noi Night Market. A Night Market which attracts crowds of epic proportions.
The outdoor Night Market is very different from work aday Dong Xuan, mostly because it’s more of a social event. Locals stroll the streets shoulder-to-shoulder, perusing inexpensive goods sold at the lighted stalls. It’s fun and colourful, and definitely not about the shopping.
From bustling traffic at daytime to a vehicle free pedestrian walkway at night.
This takes place on the central Hang Dao Street one of the cities busiest stretches which splits through the centre of Ha Noi’s Old Quarter. The market starts from Hoàn Kiếm Lake side and runs the length of Hang Dao Street to the Dong Xuan Market. Spilling further with a run off of crowds on smaller side streets.
For many Hanoians, coming to the night market becomes a habit even when they don’t want to shop, just stroll to feel the atmosphere, chat with family or friends and enjoy some snack.
